“Just Checking In…”
In many industries, the idea that an entire team winds up being collectively is transferred or assigned the same client work project is unrealistic.
We know how to check in with our clients, but what about our team members, those whom we only get to see and interact with when a new project begins? If you’re in the film or music industry, you can probably relate to this. There are only so many hours in the day to create, communicate and deliver. So how do you add time to communicate with those team mates and collaborators who aren’ working on your current project? Simple. Just send a simple note. Literally a note that says: “Hey, just checking in with you. I was thinking about you today and just wanted to send you a note saying Hello!”
Really. It’s that simple. The world is filled with people who need people, a room full of someones to hold you too close, know you too well… people just like yourself, who appreciate messages letting them know that they are thought about every once and a while by a professional peer or colleague. Out of sight, but not out of mind. “Gone, but not forgotten.”
Say hello! It’s okay. We’re all in this together– maybe not this time–but there is always a next time!
